Strong wind 15-23 m/s (54-83 km/h or 34-51 mph) is expected in the South West tomorrow, wind gusts reaching 40 m/s (144 km/h or 89 mph) by mountains specially by Kjalarnes and Hafnarfjall and Hellisheiði (road no. 1). As well in the northern part of Snaefellsnes-peninsula (road no. 54). Travellers proceed cautiously!
Considerable avalanche (level 3 of 5) danger in mountain areas in northern Westfjords!
Due to heavy rain there is an increased risk of landslides in the southeast part of Iceland between Seljalandsfoss, and the Eastern fjords.
A storm is expected over all of Iceland today around noon (until noon Saturday) and will bring strong winds over 25m/s (90km/h, 55mph) with rain in the south and west. Difficult travel conditions are expected.
