• 2G and 3G will be shut down in Iceland, starting in April. Guests are advised to check if their phones are working before their arrival, since this may affect access to the emergency number 112. Furher information at ECOI
• Phone coverage around the coastline in Iceland is generally very good.
• In Iceland there can be spots of limited coverage, such as narrow canyons and deep valleys. It can therefore be necessaire to move to higher point or into a broader area to get phone coverage.
• Note that if the coverage is limited text messages can often be delivered. This is especially the case in the highland of Iceland.
